June Birthdays

Hello again. I thought I would follow up on Bi's suggestion and let you know a bit about Kirk, whose birthday is June 24 (St. John the Baptist day, for those of you who lived in Catholic countries). He is an assistant professor at BYU and teaches political science. He studies politics in Latin America and is working on a book about what is happening right now in Venezuela with their populist/leftist president. He is from Central Phoenix and his family knew Bi's family. We also found out that Grandpa Tanner taught his mother seminary at one time.

There are lots of other June birthdays, but my sisters would probably do better at describing their husbands. Here's a one-sentence attempt, though, at a few with birthdays this month. Paul works at a computer software company; he can fix or build just about anything. Rob works with computer systems and travels all over the country; he takes his family on adventures and outings all the time. David works for Merck in his dream job; he is really smart and takes good care of his family. Jared is working on a Ph.D. in psychology (studying the brain) in Florida; he still manages to keep up on lots of pop culture stuff. My dad, James, is a lawyer and does lots of family history in his "spare" time.

Another bit of news, if you didn't see it. Amy and David's baby, Daniel, came home from the hospital last Thursday, a week after his operation. He seems to be doing very well.
